FAQ:
WILL THIS AFFECT OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR UTILITY CARRIER:
No. We have worked with over 200 utilities across the world and have an excellent relationship with all of them.
I THOUGHT THE UTILITIES WERE REGULATED. HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN?
The primary reason is human error. There are usually at least 30 billing classes a commercial user can be in. There are surcharges, miscalculations, penalties and tariffs. A lot of the responsibility falls on the customer. Whenever a customer changes their name, changes their location, adds an addition, goes into bankruptcy or simply has a meter replaced, they are lumped into a standard commercial class.
HOW MUCH TIME WILL THIS TAKE?
Outside of our initial review, the entire process should take no more than 20 minutes of your time. We will prepare all the paperwork necessary to expedite and maximize your claim.
WHY CAN'T WE DO THIS OURSELVES?
You can. But most companies find it inefficient to spend the time and training necessary to accurately review their utility billings. The best part of our service is our expertise in the laws that govern utility billings. In addition, we will expedite and maximize your claim. What happens most is that more pressing matters come up forcing clients to shelve the project. If this matter sits for six months, a fee is paid to the utility in continued billing errors and lost refund opportunities (statute of limitations).
WILL WE NEED TO PULL UTILITY BILLS FROM PRIOR YEARS?
No. Any history we may need can be provided by the utilities.
HOW DO WE GET STARTED?
We simply need to review one recent gas, fuel oil, propane, electric and water billing from each account. If there are multiple locations, please also include those. You can email them to ddawson@utilitycostanalysts.com or fax them to (888)224-5124
